Alabama Comic Weekend,
hosted by Comic City, was a pretty fun show to be a part
of.  It had dealer booths and enough merchandise to
choke the average fanboy.  On 7/28/07 we rocked
Huntsville and on 7/29/07 we kicked it a little closer to my
home in Birmingham.  People were excited about the
comics and toys ...
... however there was one thing that got them even more
excited.  This convention had more than toys and comics,
statues and variants.  This convention had an appearance by:
Welcome to Huntsville!
Welcome to Birmingham!
I had many adoring fans approach me
over the two days.  Several of them
weren't even related to me at all!
It's Mom!  (It's always fun to do a show in
your home town.)
We're one happy, relatively functional
family
As always, I steal a moment with my
favorite (and prettiest!) fan.
Aside from those I'm legally and
biologically bound to, Trace was
probably my favorite fan.  He really had
no idea who I was, but he sure did think
it was cool that I had my picture taken
with the "green dude."  I thought Trace
was pretty cool, too.
... but wait!  There's MORE!  We didn't just stop there.  Ohh, no.  That would be too easy.  We came back.  You
could say we were recurring (like a case of genital herpes) because on the first weekend of 2008 we brought you
Alabama Comic Weekend 2008
Huntsville -- January 5, 2008
Birmingham -- January 6, 2008
Even if it was slow, I still had the
opportunity to chat with a few
fans of the movie.
Unfortunately, I didn't catch a
picture of me with any of them.
Ami spent most of the day at the
nearby shopping mall, leaving
me without a photographer.  So,
most of the pictures I have are
of all of us screwing around.

Here's a picture of me and
Courtney with blue teeth.  (She's
got the blue teeth, not me.)
Family weren't the only ones
screwing around.  Here's a
picture of
Bobby Nash and Sean
Taylor being less than
productive.  I had a really great
time chatting with Bobby and
Sean and getting to know them
better.  They're both incredibly
talented and awesomely cool.
Check their work out.  You won't
be disappointed!

Sean's the writer of Gene
Simmons'
Dominatrix.  He also
worked on Gene's
House Of
Horrors.
I'm currently reading
(and enjoying!)
Fishnet Angel.

Bobby writes the wicked cool
Demonslayer.  The kids are big
fans of
Fuzzy Bunnies From Hell.
It's good stuff.
See?  It wasn't all dry.  People
did wander up on occasion.
As I said earlier, we were
visited by the cult-legendary
George Hardy.  George was the
star of
Troll 2, which touts itself
as the "best worst movie" ever
made.  He's also a super-nice
guy and a really fun person to
chat with.  If you get the chance
to catch a
Troll 2 showing in
your hometown, I totally think
you should go for it.  It's a
guaranteed good time!  George
didn't stick around long, but I
know I'll get more of a chance
to talk when we run across
each other at OmegaCon.
Yep, there we are.  We're like
some kind of Bizzaro Rat Pack.
Me am outta here.
